Tinashe is a multidisciplinary artist who trained at Zimbabwe’s Peter Birch School of Art and the National Gallery’s School of Visual Art and Design. “I work with different mediums on multiple surfaces,” Tinashe says. “I love being fluid with my creativity.”

Working as a duo, Tinashe sets the scene, providing the vibrant backgrounds for the artworks using everyday objects to apply the paint. Marko, who attended Zimbabwe’s National Gallery’s School of Visual Art and Design, then brings the canvases to life with energetic figures which bring movement and emotion to the paintings.

In their work for “First Light”, Tinashe and Marko celebrate the strength of women and women’s ability to show gracefulness, patience and resilience despite fighting fierce battles against the male ego. The motion and rhythm depicted in the paintings reflect the confidence and determination of women to be themselves, present in the moment.

Tinashe and Marko have exhibited twice with DPA.ART.
